VCT Summer Challenge Ride

Join Raul Zevallos and cycle from Chickahominy Riverfront Park to Charles City Courthouse and back on the VCT.  This is a D-pace no-drop ride.

The Virginia Capital Trail Summer Challenge (see this link) started already, but for many of us doing the whole trail in one shot can be too much. Thankfully, the VCT summer challenge lets you ride every mile of the VCT a bit at a time. Many of you who ride the Tuesday night rides already do the first portion of the trail, so why not keep adding another bit, one ride at a time? I'm offering leading this first bit toward completing the challenge beginning from Chickahominy River Park up to Charles City County Courthouse and back, about 27 miles total. This ride offers an opportunity for riders to build up their endurance and group riding skills, along with confidence to go farther.

We will START RIDING at 8:00 am.  We will take frequent, but short, breaks along the way, as it will get warm later in the day. All riders should come prepared to ride for around 3 hours, including breaks, on the VCT.  Bring water bottles, snacks, some cash, and road repair spares (tube, pump, etc.).
