Reed and Karen Nester are planning a series of “Something Different” rides this year. Ride starts will be about an hour from Williamsburg, and rides will be "B" pace (average speed 14-16 mph), 30-35 miles. The ride starts will be at Osborne Landing Park, Dorey Park and Upper Shirley Vineyards near Richmond, and Smithfield.
For this ride, the Dorey Park-Rocketts Landing 33, we will meet at 9:00 am on Saturday, Aug 19, at Dorey Park and Recreation Center, 2999 Darbytown Road, Henrico, VA. We will meet at the parking lot at the end of the park entrance road – bathrooms are available. Pre-registration is requested. To pre-register, click on BOOK THIS EVENT.
This route will take the Capital Trail to Rocketts Landing, and then take back roads (including Osborne Turnpike and Kingsland Road) back to Dorey Park, with a loop through the Richmond Battlefield Park – Ft. Harrison Unit before the finish. We will have a rest stop, with bathrooms available, at Osborne Landing Park at mile 20. For those interested, we can gather for lunch after the ride.
